Ralph Buchanan, CFM

Principal

With over 30 years of experience in strategic planning, asset management and human resources, Ralph brings extensive expertise to his role as a Principal of our firm. He has an in-depth understanding of facilities management, budgeting & planning cycles, forecasting business support requirements, managing mission-critical projects, and effectively implementing and running complex budget and schedule tracking systems.

Ralph was Director of Facilities Operations, Maintenance and Utilities at Stanford University, where he was responsible for a staff of 280 people and managed budgets in excess of a $40 million. He was responsible for 240 buildings comprising 8 Million square feet of corporate space, 2,000 acres of grounds and a central utilities distribution and production plant system. During his tenure, he spent 18 months in the role of Associate Vice President and was responsible for Health & Safety, Health Physics, Procurement, Facilities Maintenance, Operations and Utilities Departments.

Throughout his career, Ralph has implemented strategic changes resulting in the saving of millions of dollars per year in facilities operating and maintenance costs. With a BSEE, he is a Professional Engineer and an IFMA Certified Facility Manager.
